went by bus it from the cold of the mountains to the coast to Kerala. The 8-hour bus ride was actually quite entertaining, as I went on Good Friday I was very influenced by Christianity in Kerala observe many Easter processions, it was amazing how much from the many churches was going on. The city of Cochin
consists basically of 2 main parts. On the mainland Ernakulam, this is like any other Indian city is loud, hectic, tiring. But there are still located on islands and peninsulas quieter neighborhoods like Fort Cochin, Matanacherry.
Since I arrived in the evening in Ernakulam where I had to spend a night in a shabby hotel. The next morning I got up at 7 and went on my way to Fort Cochin. The half hour bus ride was like a journey back to Portugal from the 16th-17th century, Fort Cochin is a very quiet neighborhood with many small beautiful houses and beautiful churches. Here you can feel nothing of the hektig of the subcontinent.
unfortunately I would have some bad luck with the weather and it rained the first 2 days, which is very unusual for the season and has done particularly in agriculture much damage. I spent the 4 days I was in Cochin Spatzierer especially thereby through the many narrow streets and enjoy the atmosphere.
Icg course visited the tourist attractions, such as the Basilica (Roque) Santa Cruz, Vasco da Gama's corpse Took spent the first 10 years after his death, before he transferred to Lisbon was. Also interesting was the Jewtown called Jewish Quarter, where lives the largest Jewish community in India. It was great to walk along there even in the evening on the beach promenade.
Luckily just is not high season, so not many tourists go. It was interesting to watch on Sunday, the Indian family, who made a day trip. After 4
had great days, I already leave Kerala, 3 weeks are very short, time is running. To expect a 16 hour train ride to Goa.
